Roads, levels and drainage, designed together.

Levrun is a new approach to site design. Give it the topographical survey and the layout, and it sets the road and floor levels, balances the earthworks, sizes the pipes, storage and flow controls, and checks the result against the local design standards. Give it an engineer's drawings and calculations, and it checks them. All in one pass, in the browser.

A different approach

One pass, not three packages.

How it is usually done

The established design platforms are capable tools, and some size pipes or grade a site automatically. But they are specialist packages. A trained engineer builds the model by hand, manhole by manhole, and the roads, the levels and the drainage are often worked up in separate tools and reconciled afterwards.

That takes skill and time, and it leaves developers, planners and approving authorities relying on results they cannot easily check.

How Levrun does it

Levrun starts from the layout. It sets the road levels, the floor levels, the earthworks and the drainage together, so a change to one carries through to the rest.

It runs in the browser, it explains its findings in plain words, and it can check anyone's design, not only its own.

What it does

Design, check and audit.

Design

Load the topographical survey and draw the roads and houses, or bring the layout in as a drawing. Levrun screens the site, sets the levels, balances cut and fill, and designs the pipe network, storage and flow controls to the local design standards.

In: topographical survey (DXF), layout, outfall
Out: levels, network, storage, drawings, quantities

Check

Upload the engineer's drainage calculation and drawings. Levrun reads the network as designed, reruns the same storms on its own engine, and shows manhole by manhole where the results differ and where water leaves the pipes.

In: the engineer's calculation and drawings (PDF), survey (DXF)
Out: a level by level comparison and the issues

Audit

Read the engineer's report, drawings and calculations against the approving authority's own criteria and get a plain list: what complies, what is not demonstrated, and what needs explaining.

In: the engineer's report, drawings and calculations
Out: findings, each with the rule and the evidence

Tested on real schemes

Checked against engineers' own designs.

222engineers' lodged drainage calculations read as designed and rerun on Levrun's engine
1.02Levrun's storage against the engineer's, at the median, on 75 schemes it had not seen during development
82engineers' networks flagged with a question the designer would need to answer

From Levrun's validation book, November 2026, on Irish housing schemes. Hydraulics run on the US EPA's open SWMM 5 engine. On the 75 unseen schemes, 43% came within 10% of the engineer's storage and 83% within 30%.

From site boundary to drawing pack

Five steps, one scheme.

  1. SiteLoad the topographical survey, or find the site and draw its boundary. The constraints are screened at once.
  2. LayoutRoads, houses and open space laid out on the site.
  3. LevelsRoad and floor levels set, with the cut and fill balanced.
  4. DrainagePipes, storage and flow controls sized and run through the design storms.
  5. PacksDrawings, sections and quantities for the contractor, cost consultant, drafting team and planner.
